US-based energy solutions company Ameresco, Inc. has received the Socially Responsible Project award at the 2025 Reuters Global Energy Transition Awards in New York for its Kūpono Solar Project in O‘ahu, Hawaii. The project includes a 42 MW solar array and a 168 MWh battery energy storage system. It supplies power to around 10,000 homes, with 44 % classified as under-resourced, and is expected to reduce over 50,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Also, the projectincludes workforce development, biodiversity support, and sustainability education. Ameresco was selected from over 600 global entries for its contribution to energy access, emissions reduction, and community resilience.
