Alliant Energy commissioned 200 MW Pleasant Creek Solar in US

Pleasant Creek Solar was built by NextEra for Alliant Energy and is now the largest solar project in Iowa with 200 MW, supplying power to 40,000 homes.

US-based Alliant Energy has announced its 200-MW solar facility in Linn County, now called Pleasant Creek Solar, became operational. It was previously named Duane Arnold Solar during development. The site is Iowa’s largest solar field and can power about 40,000 homes annually. Combined with the Creston and Wever solar projects, Alliant Energy reached 400 MW of new solar capacity in Iowa. Pleasant Creek Solar was developed by Duane Arnold Solar LLC, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources. Construction finished in two phases, with 50 MW online in March 2024 and 150 MW in December 2024.The company also operates around 1,300 MW of wind resources in the state. Recently, NextEra Energy Resources has proposed the Dry Falls Solar project in Grant County.
