US-based NextEra Energy Resources has proposed the Dry Falls Solar project in Grant County, Washington. The portfolio includes 400 MW of solar capacity and 1,600 MW of battery storage. The project will cover around 5,715 acres near Coulee City and on approval, could begin construction by June 2025. It is expected to generate around 400 construction jobs and contribute additional local revenue. The proposal is under review by Grant County Commissioners and would be the first of its scale in the state, combining large-scale solar generation with energy storage.
