Sweden-headquartered Alight Energy, solar developer and power producer, has built Sweden’s largest solar park, Ax-el, near Hallstavik. The company owns and operates the 64 MW facility under a long-term PPA with Axfood. Axfood, a grocery group, will buy all the electricity from it for at least ten years. The park spans 82 hectares and produces 63 GWh of electricity annually. This covers about 15% of Axfood’s yearly electricity needs, enough to power around 12,600 homes. The electricity is certified under the “Bra Miljöval” label. The project was financed with a green loan from SEB, with Vattenfall Eldistribution AB as the grid operator. This update follows Alight’s recent agreement with Autoliv for Finland’s largest solar power deal, highlighting its expanding presence in the Nordic renewable market.
