US-headquartered Alsco Uniforms,a provider of linen and uniform laundry services, has partnered with Hawaiʻi Unified Industries to commissiona rooftop solar installation at its Honolulu plant. The project, initiated by Hawai’i Unified in 2022, began construction in October 2023 and completed its second phase in June 2024. The 1.4 MW system, now operational, is expected to generate over 1,036,621 kWh of clean energy annually, equivalent to offsetting 1,575,892 pounds of CO2 emissions, which is comparable to planting 12,128 trees. This installation will save Alsco over $435,000 annually in energy costs while minimizing its environmental impact.
