Aiko asserts patent independence

Shanghai Aiko Solar Energy Co., Ltd. faces a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Maxeon Solar Technologies, Ltd. at the Unified Patent Court in Europe concerning European patent EP3065184B1, granted on March 13, 2024. This patent, linked to a previously dismissed patent EP2297788B1, is allegedly infringed by Aiko’s products. As per the company, Aiko has a strong focus on intellectual property, with 2,100 patents filed and 1,220 granted by May 31, 2024, including 430 related to ABC technology. The company claims its intellectual property team, supported by a European law firm, asserts that its ABC products do not infringe on Maxeon’s patent. Aiko intends to defend its position vigorously, collaborate with global partners, and maintain transparency throughout the legal proceedings.
