Australia’s diverse climate poses unique challenges for solar energy production, such as shading from buildings, trees, and farm structures. According to AIKO, its advanced shade management technology effectively addresses these issues, as its technology leverages semiconductor physics and features back contact cells with interdigitated contacts that perform well even under partial shading. Unlike conventional panels that experience significant power loss from shading, AIKO’s ABC modules with Partial Shading Optimization bypass only the affected cells, maintaining overall efficiency, says AIKO. The n-type all back contact design removes metal contacts from the cell’s front, reducing shading and allowing fewer panels to achieve the same output. AIKO’s technology also adapts to new shading from environmental changes, ensuring consistent long-term performance.
