Adapture Renewables, Inc., a US-based utility-scale solar and energy storage developer, has completed the 14.6 MW Rivanna Solar project in Charlottesville, Virginia. This is the company’s first venture in Virginia, within Dominion Energy and PJM territories. The project is set to generate over 21,000 MWh of renewable energy annually, powering thousands of homes and businesses. Adapture states it aligns with Virginia’s goal of 100% clean energy and addresses rising demand driven by data center expansion. Backed by the Inflation Reduction Act, the project created over 150 local jobs during construction and is expected to contribute over $2 million in state and local taxes. Upon decommissioning, the site will return to timber farming, benefiting from natural land rejuvenation during its operation.
