ACWA Power has signed financing agreements worth $533 million for the Tashkent Riverside project in Uzbekistan. This project includes a 200 MW photovoltaic power plant and a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), both integral to stabilizing the energy grid and promoting renewable energy in Uzbekistan. The agreements were made with several international financial institutions. ACWA Power’s investments aim to support Uzbekistan’s goal of generating 35% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, helping offset 1.6 million tonnes of CO2 annually. The Tashkent Riverside project is part of a larger $10 billion investment commitment by ACWA Power in Uzbekistan.
