A proponent of heterojunction PV cell and module manufacturing, MCPV has secured €4.2 million in financing from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Province of Groningen, and the Regional Development Agency NOM to begin the implementation of its 4-GW solar cell factory in Veendam, the Netherlands. MCPV has also signed an agreement with Enexis, the regional grid operator, ensuring grid capacity for the plant’s initial phase and future expansion. This project is expected to commence production by 2026 and create over 600 jobs, contributing to Europe’s clean energy transition. The Veendam factory is part of the SolarNL program, which aims to strengthen European energy independence and develop an integrated solar industry.
