US–headquartered Chaberton Energy’s 7.65 MW Project Bonneville has been approved to move forward by the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) under the state’s Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity process. This community solar project, located in Jarrettsville, Harford County, Maryland, will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 1,400 homes. The project will occupy 37 acres of a 186-acre plot, with additional features including the creation of pollinator habitats to support biodiversity and local agriculture. Project Bonneville aligns with Maryland’s legislation that promotes local clean energy projects, particularly benefiting low- and moderate-income households by providing $300 in annual energy savings for subscribers. The project is part of Chaberton Energy’s plan to develop more than 190 MW of community solar in Maryland.
