Tata Power to invest INR 1.2 lakh crore in Rajasthan

Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies, has signed a transformative Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan at the Rising Rajasthan Investor Meet in New Delhi. As per Tata Power, the company plans to invest around ₹1.2 lakh crore over the next decade. The company claims that key components will include developing 10,000 MW of renewable energy capacity, comprising 6,000 MW solar and 4,000 MW hybrid projects across districts such as Bikaner and Jaisalmer. Furthermore, Tata Power will invest ₹2,000 crore to establish an advanced solar module manufacturing facility in Jodhpur, boosting India’s domestic manufacturing. The plan also includes modernizing grid infrastructure with investments nearing ₹30,000 crore, exploring nuclear power, and setting up 100,000 EV charging points. This ambitious initiative is expected to create over 28,000 direct jobs and support Rajasthan’s emergence as a renewable energy hub.
