NHPC Limited has issued a Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for the procurement of 1.2 GW of solar power projects connected to the ISTS network, along with 600 MW/1,200 MWh of Energy Storage Systems (ESS). The tender, part of Tranche VIII, also offers an additional 1.2 GW of capacity under a ‘Greenshoe Option.‘ NHPC will enter into Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) for 25 years with the winning bidders, who must install solar power projects on land they arrange anywhere in India. The minimum project size is set at 50 MW, with an ESS component. Bid submissions start on October 8, 2024, with a deadline of October 18, 2024, and the results will be announced on October 23, 2024. The entire bidding process will take place online, followed by a reverse auction.
