rPlus Energies begins 400 MW PV project in Utah

US-based rPlus Energies has started construction on the Green River Energy Center, a 400 MW PV and 400 MW/1,600 MWh battery storage project in Eastern Utah. The project is said to be one of the largest solar-plus-storage initiatives in the US and will supply power to PacifiCorp through a power purchase agreement. With over $1 billion in financing secured, the project is expected to create approximately 500 jobs. Sundt Construction is the EPC contractor, EliTe Solar is providing the solar panels, and Tesla will supply the battery storage systems.
