Sungrow, a leading China-based provider of PV inverters and energy storage systems, has secured JET certification for its SG5.5RS-JP 5.5 kW string inverter. The Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET) is known for its rigorous certification standards, which highlight performance, safety, and reliability. According to Sungrow, the SG5.5RS-JP inverter is designed for low-voltage applications and meets Japan’s demanding technical criteria for active islanding detection. The company says this feature allows the inverter to detect and isolate faults within 0.2 seconds during parallel operation, enhancing safety. Additionally, the inverter boasts an IP65 protection rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water. It operates efficiently across a wide temperature range from -25°C to +60°C.
