Iberdrola installs 80 kW solar system at Guggenheim

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao has joined Iberdrola España’s self-consumption program by installing approximately 300 solar panels on its two largest roofs. This new solar photovoltaic facility will generate 80 MWh annually, meeting around 5% of the museum’s electricity needs and covering the lighting requirements for all exhibition spaces. The installation has a total capacity of 80 kW. This initiative, reducing CO₂ emissions by 16 tonnes annually (equivalent to planting 800 trees), was executed by Iberdrola España and Bikote Solar with the approval of Frank Gehry and the Bilbao City Council.
