Fortis Energy acquires 180 MW solar plant in Serbia

Fortis Energy, an Istanbul-based subsidiary of UCK Holding, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring a 180 MW (AC) solar project with a battery energy storage system (BESS) in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia. This project will feature a 36 MW/h BESS and is expected to become one of the largest solar power plants and energy storage systems in Southeast Europe. Construction is slated to begin in 2025. With a diverse renewable portfolio in the Balkans and Türkiye, Fortis is a leading provider of flexibility solutions in the European market. Fortis Energy’s existing assets include solar power plants with a 190 MW capacity and biogas plants jointly producing 460,000,000 kWh annually.
