Alpiq divests 5.5 MWp rooftop PV in Switzerland

Alpiq has divested seven rooftop PV assets totaling 5.5 MWp to PS Panneaux Solaires SA in Switzerland, aligning with its focus on supply security and the energy transition. According to the company, prioritizing flexibility solutions and storage expansion is key to effectively integrating renewable energies. These assets, located in Fribourg, Solothurn, and Vaud, contribute approximately 5.6 GWh of renewable energy annually. Switzerland saw a nearly 40% increase in solar capacity in 2023, reaching about 1,500 MW. Alpiq, known for its Nant de Drance and FMHL pumped storage facilities with a capacity of 1,400 MW, plays a crucial role in grid integration. Collaborating on six Alpine PV projects, five hydropower initiatives, and three wind farms, Alpiq enhances supply security and supports Switzerland’s energy transition efficiently.
