Pineapple Energy Inc.’s subsidiary, SUNation Energy, has completed two of three renewable energy projects for the Shinnecock Nation in Long Island. The completed projects include a rooftop solar and ground mount array, providing 100% electric offset for a local elementary school and supporting five new homes with hydrogen fuel cell power. SUNation is in the final design phase of a $2.5 million, 1 MW ground mount/carport community solar array, pending grant funding. The new community solar power will be distributed across the 800-acre Shinnecock Reservation. The solar panels used in the project were donated to the Shinnecock Nation.
