German solar company SUNfarming has initiated construction on South Africa’s largest agri-solar plant, co-financed by DEG/KfW. Spanning 30,000 m², this innovative project integrates solar energy production with agriculture, promoting sustainable dual land use. The plant features semi-transparent photovoltaic modules and a water-efficient irrigation system. Beyond environmental benefits, the project stimulates the local economy by creating jobs and offering training programs in renewable energy and sustainable farming.
