Boviet Solar Technology Co. Ltd., a Vietnamese solar energy firm, has chosen Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina, as its inaugural North American production site. This $294 million investment will unfold in two phases, providing 908 skilled jobs. It represents Boviet Solar’s second global manufacturing site, complementing its operations in Vietnam. The facility will produce TOPCon n-type cell-based monofacial and bifacial PV modules for various US sectors. Phase 1 involves repurposing an existing building, while Phase 2 includes constructing a 500,000 to 600,000-square-foot factory on 34 acres for PV cell production, targeting a combined annual output of 2 GW. Operations are slated to begin in Q1 2025.
