Astronergy has expanded its manufacturing base in Thailand with new wafer slicing production lines, which began operations on April 15. The goal is to achieve an annual production capacity of 5 GW wafers, creating an integrated supply chain from wafers to modules. As part of its ‘Internet + Transparent Factory’ initiative, Astronergy ensures full traceability for its products, catering primarily to US clientele. his expansion follows the recent completion of the company’s manufacturing base in Turkey. The Thailand facility, operational since September 2016, will focus on increasing n-type TOPCon capacity, targeting an annual production of 1.5 GW cells and 1.5 GW modules (210 mm wafer) in Phase-2. The fab utilizes advanced processing equipment including diamond-wire based sawing tools for wafer slicing.
