Lightyears Solar, based in New Zealand, has secured NZD 6 million in capital to construct three new community-scale solar farms in Wairarapa and Canterbury, totaling 18 MW. This equity raise will also support growth in its Engineering and Construction arm. The projects aim to power nearly 4,000 homes with renewable energy. Lightyears Solar’s portfolio will reach 20 MW with the completion of these farms, alongside plans for 60 MW more in 2025. The capital raising was led by Prime Energy and Hoku Group. Lightyears Solar also secured a NZD 25 million debt facility from NZGIF for project operations.
