MPC Energy Solutions has begun construction of its 65 MWp San Patricio Renovables solar PV plant in Guatemala. The company secured competitive prices for PV modules and essential equipment by issuing a limited notice to proceed to the project’s EPC contractor, the Enerland Group. Once operational, the plant will generate approximately 141 GWh of electricity annually. The plant’s entire output will be sold under a 16-year fixed-price Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to Guatemala’s leading sugar producer, Ingenio Magdalena S.A. (IMSA). IMSA processes 6.5 million tons of sugarcane annually and is also the country’s largest private energy producer, supplying around 8% of Guatemala’s total energy consumption.
