CREC inaugurates 69 MW solar plant in the Philippines

Citicore Renewable Energy Corp. (CREC) is in the process of building a 69 MWp solar power plant in Negros Occidental, as part of its goal to contribute 1 GW of solar capacity annually for five years. This aligns with the Philippines’ goal of reaching 35% renewable energy by 2030 and 50% by 2040. The plant, located in Silay City, is set to begin operations in 2024 under the Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP) 2. The company also aims to eventually expand to 100 MWp.
