EDF Renewables and Perpetua Holdings secure Umoyilanga project, the South Africa’s first wind-solar-storage virtual power plant under the government’s IPP program. Spreading across 900 km with solar-plus-storage in Avondale and wind-plus-storage in Dassieridge, the advanced technology ensures efficient long-distance energy coordination. The project aims to generate 400 million kWh annually, meeting the energy needs of around 120,000 households upon grid connection, enhancing regional power stability.
