EQT acquires Scale Microgrids’ 250 MW portfolio

US-based EQT Transition Infrastructure has agreed to acquire Scale Microgrids, a company based in New Jersey, focused on microgrids and distributed energy resources. Scale’s portfolio includes 250 MW of operational and in-construction assets, along with a 2.5 GW development-pipeline. The portfolio covers solar, battery storage, fuel cells, natural gas generators, and few other systems. This acquisition marks EQT’s first North American investment under its Transition Infrastructure strategy. EQT plans to enhance Scale’s capabilities by improving its commercial processes, software systems, and project execution. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals, with EQT and Scale receiving legal and financial advisement from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Guggenheim Securities, Latham & Watkins, Nomura Greentech, and Truist Securities.
