US-based EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) unveiled Sandrini I & II Solar Energy Park in Kern County. Sandrini I has a capacity of 200 MW with a 15-year PPA with Shell Energy North America. Sandrini II has a capacity of 100 MW with a 15-year PPA with the Redwood Coast Energy Authority. Both phases, commissioned in Q4 2024, generate power for over 76,000 California homes annually. Sandrini II meets over one-third of RCEA’s annual electricity needs and supports its goal of 100% renewable energy by 2030. The projects contributed over $510,000 in tax payments, $15 million in land lease payments, and supported more than 200 construction jobs. Additionally, they saved over 381 million gallons of water annually compared to conventional energy generation.
