EliTe Solar, a Singapore-based PV manufacturer, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 5 GW facility in Egypt’s TEDA Suez Economic Zone. The facility, covering 78,000 square meters, was planned to begin production in September 2025, with 2 GW solar cell and 3 GW solar module production lines. The project aimed to strengthen Egypt’s solar supply chain, enhance export capacity, and support the country’s goal of achieving 42% renewable energy by 2030. Once operational, it was projected to generate 500 million kWh annually, save 307 million tonnes of coal, and offset emissions equivalent to planting 84 million trees.
