UK-based Ethical Power Italia, a subsidiary of Ethical Power Group, signed a solar EPC contract in Italy to construct two solar farms for Encavis AG. The projects, Cobu Solar Farm (9 MW) and Massarenti Solar Farm (9.3 MW), are in Emilia-Romagna, Northern Italy, and will use single-axis tracker systems. The Cobu project includes a 5 km MV grid connection line. Construction is set to begin in Q1 2025, with completion expected by the end of 2025. Together, the projects will generate approximately 28 GWh annually. Encavis AG acquired the projects at the ready-to-build stage from Hive Energy earlier in the month. This is the second solar EPC contract awarded by Encavis AG to Ethical Power Group, following the 55 MW Fundici Solar Farm in Spain. Italy added 5.23 GW of solar capacity in 2023, and Ethical Power Italia has an additional pipeline of 200 MW of solar and energy storage projects planned.
