The US Department of Energy (DOE) has selected four Puerto Rico-based teams under the Programa de Comunidades Resilientes. The portfolio is funded by the Puerto Rico Energy Resilience Fund (PR-ERF), with an investment of up to $365 million. The initiative aims to improve energy resilience through solar and battery storage installations in community healthcare facilities, public housing, and subsidized multi-family properties. For multi-family housing, DOE plans to award up to $190 million for projects powering shared infrastructure. Selected projects include Puerto Rico Public Housing Administration’s “100×35 Renewable and Resilient” ($83.2 million) and Dynamic Solar Solutions’ “Sol y Seguridad para Multifamiliar” ($107.3 million). For healthcare facilities, up to $175 million is anticipated for solar and battery systems, including projects by the Hispanic Federation ($58.3 million) and Dynamic Solar Solutions ($116.2 million).
