India’s Reliance Power’s subsidiary, Reliance NU Suntech, secured 930 MW solar project with a 1,860 MWh battery energy storage system from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) during an e-reverse auction. As per the tender requirements, the project includes a minimum storage capacity of 465 MW/1,860 MWh charged by solar power. Following the announcement, Reliance Power shares rose 5% to Rs 46.24 on both the BSE and NSE. The company noted that this is the largest solar and battery storage project in India to date.
