Trinasolar US has announced that the US International Trade Commission (ITC) has started investigating its patent infringement complaint against Canadian Solar entities, filed on October 23, 2024. The case concerns Canadian Solar’s alleged infringement of Trina’s TOPCon solar cell technology under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930. Trina seeks to block imports and halt sales of infringing products in the US. Trinasolar also has a related lawsuit in the District of Delaware and another ITC investigation initiated on November 5, 2024, against Runergy and Adani entities for similar TOPCon patent violations.
