India-headquartered NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of state-owned NTPC based in India, has been awarded a 500 MW solar power project by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The auction was held on December 9, 2024, requires NTPC REL to establish an Energy Storage System (ESS) with a capacity of 250 MW/1,000 MWh alongside the solar installation. The agreed tariff was ₹3.52 per kWh.
