US-based Vesper Energy has reached a milestone in its Hornet Solar project by successfully installing over 1 million solar panels out of a planned 1.36 million. Located in Swisher County, Texas, the project covers six square miles and will provide 600 MW AC of renewable energy, sufficient to power 160,000 homes annually. The installation uses bifacial PV modules on single-axis trackers to enhance efficiency. The energy will connect to Oncor Electric’s transmission network within the ERCOT system and supply power to four off-take partners through PPAs. The project is being executed in collaboration with EPC partner Blattner Energy and remains on schedule for full commercialization by spring 2025.
