Neosun Energy completed a 1 MW grid-tied solar station for Dayizenza Mall in Nelspruit, South Africa. The system, consisting of 1,706 solar panels and seven inverters, is expected to generate over 1.6 GWh of electricity annually, reducing CO2 emissions by 25,807 tons and electricity costs by over 50%. Supported by a Section 12B tax incentive, the project demonstrated a 53% internal rate of return (IRR) and a 12-month payback period. Dayizenza Mall anticipates cumulative savings of R164 million over the plant’s 40-year lifespan.
