China-based JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, San Francisco, targeting VSUN Solar USA, Inc., Toyo Co., Ltd., and their affiliates. The complaint centers on alleged violations of patents tied to JinkoSolar’s TOPCon technology. According to JinkoSolar, this move aims to safeguard its intellectual property and substantial investments in solar module innovation. The company reports holding over 2,800 issued patents, including 462 related to TOPCon technology. Legal representation includes Louise Lu, Miguel Bombach, and Abigail Gardner from Perkins Coie.
