India-based Rhetan TMT, a leading steel manufacturer, relocated its proposed 2 MW solar project from Aravalli to Banaskantha, Gujarat, due to site challenges. The plant will generate renewable energy for captive consumption at Rhetan TMTs expanded Kadi steel plant, which now has an annual production capacity of 45,000 tons. The company has secured provisional approval from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency and awaits connectivity approval from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation by January 2025. Construction is set to begin soon, with completion expected by May 2025, supporting Rhetan TMT’s goal to lower energy costs and align with its IPO expansion plans.
