Matrix secures financing for 210 MW Stillhouse Solar project

US-based Matrix Renewables secured $376 million in financing for its 210 MW Stillhouse Solar project in Bell County, Texas. The plant, with a 15-year PPA with Hyundai, was designed to power 48,862 homes, avoid 185,598 tons of CO2 annually, and contribute $3 million to community benefits through the Sustain Our Future Foundation. Partners included MUFG, HSBC, ING, BBVA, and Microsoft, which purchased environmental attribute certificates. Construction began in Q2 2024, with operations planned for Q3 2025. Matrix expanded its US renewable portfolio to include over 8.7 GW of projects within a global footprint of 15.6 GW.
