Australia-based Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), part of Jameel Energy and Canada’s OMERS infrastructure fund, announced the delivery of its first unit of clean energy from its 353 MW Walla Walla Solar Farm in New South Wales. This large-scale project, among the state’s biggest, created up to 350 construction jobs, boosting regional employment and services. FRV secured a 15-year PPA with Microsoft to supply renewable energy to its Australian data centers. The Walla Walla Solar Farm is FRV’s eighth operational project, pushing its total portfolio capacity to nearly 1 GW. Earlier this year, FRV completed a $750 million refinancing for its Australian portfolio, including Walla Walla.
