Altus Power, a US-based renewable energy firm, has acquired a 3.4 MW community solar project in Frederick County, Maryland, from Chaberton Energy, through Maryland’s Community Solar Energy Generating Systems (CSEGS) pilot program. Part of Maryland’s Community Solar Pilot Program, the project will deliver renewable energy to approximately 600 residential subscribers, including low- and moderate-income households, at reduced costs. Construction is set to be completed by the end of 2024. Chaberton Energy, which initiated the project, will transition development responsibilities to Altus Power. Altus Power will oversee construction, ownership, and operations, aligning with its focus on community-based solar initiatives.
