Eramet Grande Côte in Senegal has partnered with JUWI Renewable Energies to develop a 20 MW solar photovoltaic and 11 MWh battery project to reduce reliance on heavy fuel oil and cut carbon emissions by 25,000 tons annually. The clean energy plant will supply 20% of the mine’s power and create over 100 jobs during construction and maintenance. The project aligns with Eramet’s SBTi roadmap, promoting decarbonization and sustainability in mining operations across Africa. JUWI’s expertise in hybrid solar solutions enhances efficiency and resilience for industrial operations.
