US-based Ameresco, Inc., a cleantech integrator focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy, has partnered with the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and UCI Health. The partnership is to install two solar arrays on new parking structures at UCI Health’s all-electric, zero-emission medical campus. The UCI Health – Irvine Campus Medical Complex will expand in 2025 and is designed to operate on 100% clean energy, aligning to UCI Health’s goal of carbon neutrality. Ameresco oversees the project’s design, engineering, financing, and construction, as well as providing maintenance over a 25-year PPA. The solar arrays, with a combined capacity of approximately 1.4 MW, are expected to produce over 2.3 million kWh in the first year, enough to power over 200 homes.
