US-based rPlus Energies, a private renewable energy developer, has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Idaho Power. This agreement covers the 125 MW Pleasant Valley Solar 2 project in Ada County, Idaho. This project follows the first phase, the 200 MW Pleasant Valley Solar 1. Matrix Renewables now holds a majority stake in this project, which is set to reach commercial operation in early 2025. The project is expected to create approximately 200 jobs. Additionally, it will contribute $123,000 to scholarships benefiting students in Ada County. Both projects aim to deliver solar energy to Idaho Power’s grid, supporting Meta’s nearby data center in Kuna, ID, to operate on 100% renewable energy.
