US-based Parsons Corporation has launched an advanced version of its Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) platform. This IoT-enabled, standards-based system is available as SaaS or enterprise software. It aims to enhance integration and benefits from distributed energy resources (DERs) like solar panels, wind turbines, energy storage, and smart building systems. Key features include data-driven insights, improved customer engagement, and real-time grid balancing across diverse infrastructures, enhancing resilience and operational efficiency. According to Parsons, the DERMS platform supports utilities and grid operators in optimizing DER scheduling and delivery. By integrating DERs with traditional fuel sources, it mitigates renewable energy intermittencies, lowers carbon emissions, and boosts efficiency. The platform further enables virtual power plants (VPPs), creating new revenue streams.
