Chaberton Energy, a US-based renewable energy firm, has begun construction on two community solar projects in Kent County, Delaware: the 5.7 MW (DC) Crestone project in Harrington and the 4.2 MW (DC) Blackburn project in Magnolia. Both projects aim to start generating power in 2025, collectively providing nearly 10 MW of solar energy to serve about 900 households. As per Chaberton, Crestone is expected to supply power for over 500 homes, while Blackburn will serve more than 400, reducing electricity costs by around 10% for subscribers. Pivot Energy, another national renewable energy firm, will own and operate these projects. During the groundbreaking, Chaberton donated $10,000 each to Lake Forest High School’s Future Farmers of America and the Delaware Sierra Club.
