Saudi Arabia-based ACWA Power, Global renewable energy company, announced that its Redstone Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) plant in South Africa has reached 50 MW capacity, with the full 100 MW expected soon. This project, connected to South Africa’s national grid with partners Herlogas and SEPCOIII, aims to provide renewable power to nearly 200,000 households, significantly reducing carbon emissions. Additionally, ACWA Power’s Kom Ombo PV plant in Egypt achieved its full capacity of 200 MW, further expanding clean energy access to another 200,000 households. With $7 billion invested in projects across Africa, ACWA Power expanded its renewable energy portfolio, supporting sectors such as green hydrogen, energy storage, and desalination.
