US-based Ameresco, a cleantech integrator, partnered with the Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority (RUSA) in Oregon to implement renewable energy projects across RUSA’s key facilities, including the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), administrative offices, and Natural Treatment System (NTS). Supported by nearly $2.9 million in grants from the Oregon Department of Energy, this initiative includes three major projects: a $1 million, 800 kW PV installation at RUSA’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, expected to generate 1.2 MWh annually and offset 44% of the plant’s energy needs; a $870,870, 50 kW solar array with a 186 kW battery at RUSA’s administration office, covering 100% of its energy usage; and a $1 million, 400 kW floating PV system for the Natural Treatment System (NTS), designed to generate 536,074 kWh annually and offset 64% of NTS energy consumption.
