During Solar & Storage Live KSA 2024 in Riyadh, China-based Antaisolar formed a joint venture with Saudi Arabia’s Bahra Electric to establish a PV mounting systems factory in Jeddah. As per Antaisolar, the factory targets 8 GW of annual production by 2025, scaling to 24 GW by 2027. Bahra Electric, founded in 2008, is a key player in the MENA region’s industrial sector, making it a strategic partner for this initiative. The factory aims to collaborate with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies to streamline utility-scale solar projects. According to Antaisolar, the venture will enhance efficiency by optimizing local content and ensuring maximum project uptime.
