ENGIE North America finalized a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Google to supply 90 MW of renewable energy from the Chillingham solar project in Bell County, Texas. This deal is the fifth global renewable energy collaboration between ENGIE and Google. The 350 MW solar facility, developed, constructed, and operated by ENGIE, is expected to become operational later in 2024. The PPA was executed through LEAP™(LevelTen Energy’s Accelerated Process), an initiative co-developed by Google and LevelTen Energy to streamline clean energy PPAs. The Chillingham project employed over 300 local workers during construction and is expected to generate $72 million in tax revenue, including $53 million for local schools. It became ENGIE’s largest US solar project, expanding its 8 GW North American renewable portfolio. The agreement supported Google’s 2030 objective of operating on 24/7 carbon-free energy.
